Sightseeing in Tehran, a visit to famed archeological sites and some local cuisine – Foreign Ministry staff get a virtual tour of the Islamic Republic

Employees at the Israeli Foreign Ministry are part of the daily diplomatic effort vis-à-vis the Iranian nuclear program, but most of them have never set foot in the Islamic Republic – it is banned by law.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, that might change next week: For the first time, Foreign Ministry employees will be given the chance to tour Iran – virtually.
The initiative, promoted by the diplomatic planning unit in the ministry, aims to acquaint the ministry's staff with the beautiful side of the Islamic Republic and its rich and diverse history.
"For 90 minutes, we'll have the chance to forget all about Iranian terror and the nuclear threat and focus on the beautiful sides of this ancient nation," the invitation said.
The event will feature a virtual tour of Tehran, slides of its archeological sites, lectures on Persian cuisine and art and more.
